Yorkshire Burrows is managed by Robert and Hannah.
Minimum stay for this property is 3 nights.
At Yorkshire Burrows, two enchanting hillside homes nestle below-ground on a Yorkshire farm. Far reaching views, luminous sunsets and dark starry skies stretch out around you. Hot tubs invite you to slide yourself into warm bubbles and lose track of time. Sleeping between 4-6 they’re perfect for catching up with friends or for dog friendly family getaways at any time of year. Cosy burrows in winter and super-cool dens in summer, these two holiday hideouts tickle the imagination! What will you be reading at bedtime I wonder?
Yorkshire Burrows is just south of the grand North Yorkshire Moors. Rich with dramatic history, outdoor activities, cultural hotspots and famous seaside towns such as Scarborough and Robin Hood’s Bay. This is a Northern holiday hotspot!
Each pod has a beautifully fitted kitchenette with an oven, hob and fridge with ice-box. The space works well for communal chats over prepping meals. The larger home, Pheasant’s Roost, has two king-sized bedrooms, one at either end. Each bedroom has plenty of storage and its own en-suite with shower, toilet and basin. A civilised stay for four, with the option of a double sofa bed in the central living area if there are six of you.
Hare’s View sleeps four, with an open plan space with double sofa bed, and a king sized bed to the rear. Wake up and sip tea looking out to the hills through the circular glass doors. After a day of exploring moors or taking historical tours, sink into the snug bedding and lose yourself in the night sky through your stargazing dome above! Fantastic Mr Fox never knew such luxury!
When the time is right, pop your heads out of your hidey-hole and stretch yourselves out in the morning sun on the patio. Feel free to start the day with a massage from the bubbles of the hot tub, or head out into the grand landscapes of Yorkshire and save that for later! Take in the scenery and views towards the Hambleton and Howardian Hills AONB and plot your day ahead – there is ample choice as you will see…
Families foraging for fun won’t be going hungry, with a fine choice of options nearby. Go Ape has an aerial assault course and forest segways, Dalby Forest Cycle Hub, and Flamingo Land theme park and zoo are within easy reach. The inflatable assault course and paddleboards of North Yorkshire Waterpark lie between Yorkshire Burrows and Scarborough. Here you can fuel up with freshly caught fish and chips from The Lifeboat Fish Bar. If you prefer a crisp Sauvignon Blanc with your seafood, try the Wayfarer Bistro in pretty Robin Hood’s Bay.
The nearby town of Pickering has plenty of good eateries including Willowgate Bistro and The Middleton Arms. Explore Pickering Castle then hop on the North Yorkshire Steam Railway to the seaside town of Whitby. Or, visit Castle Howard for a tour – in May they host a Festival of Dogs for furry family fun! York is a day trip for those fond of city culture, shopping or British history!
