The three underground homes at The Little Shire are situated within the Mendip Hills Area of Natural Beauty (AONB) in Somerset. They are also an inspiration and crafted to perfection!  Each one caters to groups of a different size, and they are all dog friendly. Designed to be fun, stylish and quirky glamping!

The Little Shire is a great base for holiday memories to be cherished. The site is very well served, sitting behind an old working farm which is home to a fabulous selection of food and shopping outlets. The Little Shire is also within easy reach of many well-known attractions. You also have the option to explore the beautiful surrounding countryside. Inside

The three underground homes each share the same high-end finish – but each is suited to a different party size. Wabbit is the largest, sleeping between 7 and 8. With three bedrooms (two king size rooms plus one bunk room – small top bunk for under tens only). It also has a double sofa bed in the living area and a family shower room. Quackers has two king size bedrooms, each with an en-suite. The Charm Inn has one king size bed and an en-suite, so makes a perfect romantic retreat for two. It benefits from a small kitchenette in a studio formation. Meanwhile, Wabbit and Quackers each have a fully fitted kitchen – ideal for families. With Wi-Fi coverage, smart TVs and underfloor heating, these are quirky little holiday homes filled with homely touches.

Outside

The Little Shire is nestled behind Rookery Farm, a small collection of independent businesses, so there is lots to explore on site. From the different shopping and eating experiences, to meeting the livestock. Kids will love the play park and the playhouse. And when you return to your underground home at The Little Shire you can relax on your own patio area with table and chairs. A must for al fresco dining and evening drinks! Guests in The Wabbit also have access to their very own BBQ cabin. But no matter which cabin is yours, be sure to stoke the fire in the stove so your private hot tub is toasty warm when evening comes.

Get out and about and explore the beautiful Somerset countryside surrounding The Little Shire. If you’re fancying something a little more action packed, check out the wide range of activities on offer at the Mendip Activity Centre. Or explore the Mendip Hills AONB on foot. If you’re looking for history, music and architecture, Wells Cathedral is less than ten minutes away. While the Bishop’s Palace and Gardens is fifteen minutes away. The Georgian city of Bath, is a little further afield, with its famous Roman Baths and Thermae Bath Spa a modern equivalent with rooftop views of the city. Animal lovers of all ages will enjoy a day out at Longleat Safari Park, just thirty minutes away. Or nearby Wookey Hole Caves makes for an awesome family day out. Not to mention the breathtaking Cheddar Gorge, which is the perfect place for a memorable walk and picnic.
