There is something utterly magical about a treehouse. Invoke those long-forgotten memories of childhood with a stay at Netherby Treehouse.
It’s more than being close to nature. It’s the excitement of being amongst it. Situated in North Cumbria, with the city of Carlisle being a twenty-five minute drive away. This rural retreat is steeped in outdoor living. A luxury treehouse, complete with private hot tub. It is surrounded by farmland, ancient oak trees, and gorgeous views across the river towards the Scottish Border. Netherby Treehouse sleeps up to four, with the mezzanine bedroom being suitable for children over the age of seven. Ideal for families, but this private, peaceful location is also perfect for couples in search of a romantic treehouse getaway. A charming space in which to completely unwind, relax and simply enjoy being with one another.
Wonderfully cosy, just as every nest should be. Netherby Treehouse has a beautiful rustic charm with vintage accents. The open plan living space features snug corner seating and a small modern kitchen area. Whilst there is electricity, this is a treehouse meant for switching off. Spend quality time playing board games or lose yourselves in a good book. You’ll also find the double bed here, with a further two single beds tucked away on the mezzanine floor. Accessed by cool loft ladders, the kids will love them! And as this is a luxury treehouse, there’s no tramping to the loo in the middle of the night. You have your own, very stylish private shower room and toilet.
Step out onto your elevated deck and walkway and inhale that fresh, clean air. Enjoy a cup (or glass) of your favourite out on the bench, all while immersed in the soothing calm of birdsong. Get out onto the Netherby Estate, let the kids run free as you explore woodland trails. Spot the abundant local wildlife; roe deer, a wide variety of birds, even salmon in the River Esk. Return much later and satisfy your growling tummies with kebabs cooked on the firepit BBQ grill. Huddle round as the sun sets and toast marshmallows as the stars begin to twinkle. And once the wood-fired hot tub is bubbling, soak away the cares of your everyday life. Treat yourselves to a glass of something fizzy and toast to the most romantic and carefree of breaks.
The estate itself has many walking trails, one worth trying is a circular route around the River Esk. The border city of Carlisle is just twenty-five minutes away. A city with over 2000 years of history ripe for exploration. Carlisle Castle, a medieval fortress over nine centuries old is a great place to start. And Tullie House Museum and Galleries are an award-winning attraction. Take a walk along Hadrian’s Wall – a UNESCO World Heritage Site. You could even ditch the hiking boots and settle back and watch the landscape on the famous Settle-Carlisle railway route. If you’re seeking more outdoor adventure, the Lake District is around an hour away. Helvellyn, the third highest peak in England being only 50minutes away. The Lakes offer a wealth of walking, cycling and water sports. Or if you fancy something a little more sedate, visit Beatrix Potter’s house, Hill Top. Or enjoy a lake cruise in Windermere.
Families and couples looking for a rustic getaway amongst nature.
