A break at Lahtle Wood Glamping is a true escape from everything that can over complicate life.

Surrounded by lush woodland and expansive farmland in North Yorkshire. Lahtle Wood offers a comfortable way to experience a simpler, outdoor based lifestyle. Switch off your devices and tune into one another as you reconnect in your beautiful surroundings. And off-grid living has the added bonus of being far more environmentally friendly. No electricity, with lighting being either solar generated, or torchlight powered by a rechargeable battery. In addition, hot water is provided via the wood fired boiler. This is the absolute best of basic living – but with a comfy bed to rest your eyes on! With four pod options to suit a range of party sizes, and all being dog friendly. Owl and Woodpecker are both adult only, with Pheasant and Peewit sleeping four and six, respectively. With four each of Owl, Pheasant and Peewit, plus three Woodpeckers, each of the options are handily grouped together. Meaning you could team up with friends or family and enjoy your very own, private glade.

Inside

The interiors of the pods at Lahtle Wood Glamping reflect the mood of the mindset; simple and uncluttered. Well insulated and cosy, you’ll find comfortable beds for your whole party. Pheasant and Peewit each have a double bedroom to the rear, with singles at the front. And it is this space that doubles as the inside social space. Meanwhile, over in the adult only pods, Owl has a raised king-sized bed, with bench seating and a pull-out dining space in the front. While the most luxurious choice is Woodpecker with its double bed, plus a more spacious living area. It is also the only pod type to have its own ensuite wet room inside the pod.

Outside

The outside is where Lahtle Wood really comes alive. Each of the four pod types enjoys its own private al fresco kitchen, coming with gas hob burners, an outdoor sink, cool box and a whole host of utensils, crockery and cutlery. And Pheasant, Peewit and Owl also have private bathroom facilities in the form of their own ‘Scrub Shack’. All pods have running water, with hot water being provided by a wood fired boiler. Cook on the griddle over the fire pit and dine at the outdoor seating. Guests also have access to a BBQ hut, centrally located in each glade. While kids will love the play area. And those staying in the adult only pods can luxuriate in the tranquil evenings under dark night skies in their wood fired hot tubs.

If you’re ready to leave the bubble of Lahtle Wood Glamping and strike out further afield. You’re in luck, because the local area and beyond offers no shortage of options. To continue the theme of outdoor living, hiking is a must. And you’re close to some of the most beautiful countryside in England. Explore the North Yorkshire Moors, with plenty of walks to enjoy. For beach lovers, you’re near to the Yorkshire Coast, with Scarborough being just thirteen miles away. With fossil hunting galore on the coast, a particular favourite being Saltwick Bay. Or lovers of literature might prefer the forty-five-minute drive to Whitby, famed for Bram Stoker’s Dracula. The beautiful Robin Hood’s Bay is a quintessentially English fishing town, and a step back in time. That hill is also excellent cardio! For something a little more urban, the historic city of York is around thirty-five minutes away. Steeped in history, with landmarks such as York Minster, and the City Walls. And families can enjoy an adrenaline fuelled day out at Flamingo Land, just twenty-five minutes away.
