Situated in a hamlet close to Langport in South Somerset, is Collie Shepherd’s Huts. Two huts sat tucked away in a farmer’s field looking across at gorgeous views of the Somerset Levels. Perfect for couples looking for some alone time away from their busy everyday lives. And if you have a well-behaved small dog, they are welcome too! The huts are ideal for enjoying the benefits of outdoor living, all without compromising on everyday luxuries. And with the private garden opening out onto breath taking views, it’s perfect for those in need of romance. Imagine sat in this idyllic spot with your loved one, watching the sun set. With lots of walk, cycle routes and picturesque towns and villages to visit – Collie Shepherd’s Huts is the place for romance and togetherness.
Although they have many of the same features and facilities, the two huts at Collie Shepherd’s Huts differ a little. They both have in common a cosy open plan living space with a log burner to take the chill off a cool evening. A stylish kitchenette, with a double gas hob, cooking facilities, sink and a fridge with freezer compartment. Plus, a gorgeous ensuite shower room as well as Wi-Fi access and a Smart TV. Both individually styled, with Collie leaning towards heritage colours, and Shetland View preferring a more country inspired vibe. Collie has a comfy sofa, and a cute, curtained nook where you can tuck yourselves away at bedtime. Meanwhile, Shetland View has a quirky hideaway bed, which folds away during the day to reveal a dining table and benches. Whichever hut you chose, you’re assured of a tranquil, homely space to retreat into.
When morning arrives, step outside of your Collie Shepherd’s Hut and take in a deep breath of fresh country air. Pour yourself a coffee and settle on the bench seats, presiding over the far-reaching views of the glorious Somerset Levels. Or you might even be lucky enough to be neighboured by the miniature Shetland Ponies in the field! When you return after a day out, make sure you get the wood fired hot tub going. Treat yourself to a glass of something ice cold as you rustle up dinner on the barbecue grill of the firepit. Keep those embers warm as the evening turns chilly, and toast marshmallows for dessert. Later, watch the sunset on your perfect day from the toasty warmth of the hot tub.
The local area around Collie Shepherd’s Huts is ripe for exploration! Tackle many walks around the local parish, and beyond. Bring your bikes, or head further afield with the Quantock Hills AONB being less than an hour away by car. For nature lovers, the RSPB Ham Wall Nature Reserve and the Avalon Marshes Centre are both around fifteen minutes away. And you’re in luck if you have a National Trust Membership, with Dunster Castle and Watermill, Montacute House and Lytes Cary all being an hour away or less. Get the sand between your toes in either Lyme Regis or West Bay. And marvel at the natural beauty of Cheddar Gorge. And if you’re not on the guest list for Glastonbury, never fear, because the town is just as cool. Quirky and steeped in mythical history from ancient times, it is well worth a visit.
