About

A warm Welsh welcome awaits you at Cefncilwg. A perfect location for reuniting with friends, or simply spending quality time together as a family. This delightful former farmhouse provides an ideal countryside getaway for all ages.

Abundant seventeenth century charm blends beautifully with the present. Calming country décor reflects the peaceful Carmarthenshire countryside setting. It’s a prime location, so whether you’re keen to explore or ready to relax, there is something to please everyone. Enjoy the gardens, and watch the local pond life. Soak in the private hot tub or get out and about visiting the various attractions in the surrounding areas. If you’re travelling with children, they’ll love the play area. Make sure they say hello to the Shetland ponies and Alpacas in the neighbouring field. And for those who can’t bear to leave their dogs at home? Two well behaved dogs are very welcome at Cefncilwg!

Inside

With five bedrooms (3 king size, 1 double and 1 twin) there’s ample space for up to ten people to enjoy the full charms of Cefncilwg. The downstairs double bedroom is wheelchair accessible, situated next door to the luxurious bathroom – complete with a shower and roll top bath! The second bathroom being upstairs, features a refreshing walk-in shower.

Dine together in the country dining/kitchen space whilst enjoying the panoramic views over the Welsh mountains and Brecon Beacons. Then retreat for after dinner games and drinks, all cosy around the living room wood burner. If you’re looking for some peace and quiet, there’s a smaller living room where you can cosy up amidst the warmth of yet another log burner and get lost in a good book. And whilst holidays are not the time for laundry, sometimes it’s unavoidable (especially with kids!) and so full wash facilities are provided.

Outside

Rustle up some tasty treats on the outdoor BBQ and enjoy the tranquil countryside setting from the comfort of the lovely outdoor seating area. For nature lovers, the pond area offers additional seating from which to watch the local wildlife and resident ducks. Look out for the Red Kites too! For the kids, let them run riot on the large, enclosed lawn. Or there is a large playing area for them to slide, swing and climb themselves into a good night’s sleep. At which point, the grown ups can take full advantage of the private hot tub. Imagine clinking champagne glasses under a starry sky as the warm bubbles relax your aching muscles. Sheer bliss.

During your stay at Cefncilwg, you can even treat yourself or a loved one to a night beneath the stars in this dark sky area. Or a garden cinema experience, with the hire of a unique garden dome. Perfect for a special occasion or just a holiday treat!

Nearby

Cefncilwg is situated just a few miles away from the market town of Llandelio. Colourful and vibrant, it’s a must see. It is one of the prettiest towns in Wales, filled with unique independent shops. There are also plenty of inns to stop for a bite and a drink!

For those with green fingers, the National Botanical Gardens and Aberglasney Gardens are nearby. Whilst for lovers of history and heritage, Newton House, Dinefwr Castle and Carreg Cennen Castle and Farm are within easy reach. You could even pull on your boots and head to the UK’s only known Roman Gold Mine at Dolaucothi. Don’t forget to bring your buckets and spades for a trip to Llansteffan beach, just thirty minutes away. Or the Cardigan Coastline which you can reach within the hour. If thrills are more what you seek, head to Oakwood Theme Park. And of course, there are plenty of countryside based activities; bring along your bikes which you can store in the lockable bike shed on site. Or head out on a hike or even pony trekking!
