Hidden away in an unspoilt Welsh valley, amongst four hundred acres of beautiful and working woodland, sit Trallwm Farmhouse and Trawsgrych. A duo of contemporary and stylish holiday cottages, perfectly appointed for group getaways. For over forty years these holiday cottages have been greeting guests from all over, proving hugely popular for those looking for a countryside retreat in Wales.

Immerse yourself in nature and discover some of the mountain bike trails, kilometres of woodland walks, tranquil streams, a wildlife puzzle trail and much much more on Trallwm Estate. A short drive away discover some of Wales’ best spots including the Elan Valley Dams, Llyn Brianne Reservoir and Devil’s Staircase. There are two traditional yet modern holiday cottages to choose from; Trallwm Farmhouse which sleeps 7 and Trawsgrych which sleeps 9. Both are a perfect choice for a group getaway in Wales but Trawsgrych is also suitable for our beloved four legged friends!

Inside

Trallwm Farmhouse is a gorgeous 18th century detached farmhouse beside a tranquil stream, how idyllic! Unpack the car, pop on the kettle and begin exploring this cosy but spacious retreat. Share the cooking responsibilities in the pretty mosaic tiled kitchen and host a fun yet competitive games night in the spacious lounge/dining area. When it comes to some quiet adult time, cwtch down in front of the warming wood burner, tucked away in the charming inglenook fireplace, and simply relax. Enjoy a restful night’s sleep in one of the three bedrooms. The three bathrooms in Trallwm Farmhouse, one ensuite, one with a shower and one with a bath, allows for privacy even when travelling as a group.

Trawsgrych is a 17th century cottage that has been tastefully renovated whilst maintaining some gorgeous original features. Plan the day’s adventure, after cooking up a delicious breakfast in the fully equipped kitchen, enjoyed on the expansive dining room table before setting out on an adventure. After a busy day, or not so busy day, relax and unwind in the comfortable living room. Make things extra cosy by lighting up the log burner! Trawsgrych can comfortably accommodate a group of nine guests across five appealing bedrooms. The hotel quality beds adorned with crisp linen will set you up for the most restful night’s sleep.

Outside

Four hundred acres of beautiful woodland become your playground during your stay at Trallwm Farmhouse and Trawsgrych. During the warmer months, enjoy some alfresco dining on the private patio areas, toast some marshmallows on the fire pits and let the kids run free on the lawn or in the fantastic children’s assault course. Soothe those achy muscles after a day of exhilarating thrills in the luxurious wood fired hot tubs, available in both cottages.

The world is your oyster with a stay at Trallwm Farmhouse and Trawsgrych. Superbly located to explore some of Wales’ hidden gems and best spots! Spend a morning exploring the six dams at Elan Valley, an afternoon wandering around Lyn Brianne Dam or a challenging walk down the famous Devil’s Staircase. For the water babies amongst us, enjoy a wild swim at Wolf’s Leap or The Wash Pool. A refreshing way to end the day!

Llanwrtyd Wells is only seven miles away from the cottages and also holds various annual events including Bog Snorkelling, Man V Horse and Real Ale Wobble. The popular town of Builth Wells is a short drive away and is well known for the Royal Welsh Agricultural Show. An action packed event that will please the whole family!

Take a break from cooking and dine out in some popular and traditional good old fashioned pubs. The Trout Inn is just a stone’s throw away, expect a warm welcome and delicious home cooked food that will please even the fussiest of eaters. In Llanwrtyd Wells guests can choose from The Neuadd Arms, The Stonecroft, Belle Vue and The Drovers Rest.
