Sample the beauty of the glorious Scottish Highlands from your cosy base at Big Sky Lodges.

Situated on the edge of the Black Isle, ten miles north of Inverness is a wonderful countryside haven. Ideal for a family holiday, or a romantic getaway for two. The eight lodges on offer have something to suit most needs. Six of the larger lodges are based on the Scandi log cabin style. With each housing up to six guests across three bedrooms with different configurations available. Meanwhile, two lodge spaces are reserved for couples. The quirky Hideaway is a retro glamping joy, caravan style. While The Loft on the Croft is a romantic’s dream, coming with skylights and a gorgeous roll top bath. Pets don’t have to miss out on the fun either, with five of the larger lodges welcoming your furry pals.

Inside

Whichever lodge you select, you’re assured of homely comfort. From the natural wood and tartan accents in the log cabins. To the bright, retro styling in the Hideaway. And the soothing Highland inspired palette and luxury touches in The Loft on the Croft. Big Sky Lodges has somewhere for everyone. All lodges have access to Wi-Fi and most come with Smart televisions. Gather around the log burner on the comfy sofas. In each you’ll find a selection of books and board games with which to while away any rainy days. And family sized feasts will be a doddle in your well-equipped kitchen. The larger lodges have at least a master ensuite and additional bathroom. Although some have three bath or shower rooms – one for each bedroom.

Outside

Set amongst the meadows in full view of the resident Highland cows and horses. Outside space is definitely not in short supply. Each of the larger lodges have a wraparound wooden deck complete with outdoor seating. A private balcony off the master suite for the most scenic morning cup of tea you’ll likely ever enjoy. Once kids have worn themselves out running? Set them loose among the trees of the nearby woodland for a spot of den building. Call them back in time for an al fresco dinner fresh from the BBQ grill. And keep the flames burning long into the night on the firepit as you marvel at the starry dark sky above.

Nearby

Set deep in the beautiful Scottish countryside, Big Sky Lodges and their surroundings are paradise for outdoor enthusiasts. While you may well be content to simply enjoy the peaceful bliss of your lodge, should you venture out you’ll find plenty to tickle your fancy. The Black Isle is filled with walks and cycling routes, as well as having a thriving food and drink scene. Head to Chanonry Point for dolphin spotting. And enjoy a family friendly day on the beach at Rosemarkie. The small city of Inverness is a fifteen-minute drive away. And in under twenty five minutes you could be at Urquahart Castle, which overlooks the famed Loch Ness. A boat trip on the Loch is a must! History buffs will be keen to pay their respects at Culloden Battlefield. And Cawdor Castle is just over thirty minutes away. For families, you’ll find Landmark Forest Adventure Park forty minutes away. Brimming with family fun, it’s a fab place to spend the day. And the Abriachan Forest Trust have some brilliant child-friendly bike trails and well-maintained paths.
